According to Webster’s, the word worship comes from the Old English word weorthscipe (before 12th century) or as we would say today worthship. It is technically a reverence offered a divine being or supernatural power ; also : an act of expressing such reverence.
Considering the root word (worth-ship) and the technical definition you can say that worship is the act of expessing to God his value or worth. When we go to Church we worship. Nothing touches the heart like a personal testimony. Especially when it come from someone you love. Our church recently held a mother’s banquet to honor all of the Mothers for Mother’s day. The theme was “the Seasons of Life” and my niece Courtney was the speaker for spring. I was so proud of her story that I would like to share it with everyone. With her permission of course.
My wife and I had just built our new home. We were so pleased with the beautiful white carpet that graced the floors of our family room. Everything was so bright and refreshing. That is until our youngest son Stephen decided to place a nice green stain in the middle of the floor with the help of some super duper magic marker. You must understand that he was innocent of any wrong doing. The stain was just a mistake, one of those things that happen, especially when you have white carpet.
